Canopy Bangkok Sukhumvit welcomed members of the media for an exclusive press preview ahead of its official opening, offering the first glimpse inside the 174-room property and marking the arrival of Hilton's Canopy Hotels lifestyle brand in Southeast Asia. The preview introduced the hotel's locally informed interiors by award-winning design studio AvroKO, four distinctive dining and drinking concepts and its creative connections to Bangkok.

Located on Sukhumvit Soi 12, approximately six minutes on foot from Asoke BTS Skytrain and Sukhumvit MRT stations, the hotel sits in one of Bangkok's busiest and most layered districts. Terminal 21, Times Square Shopping Centre and Sukhumvit's wider collection of restaurants, bars, shops and business addresses are all within easy reach.

Created by AvroKO, the hotel's interiors draw from the different identities that have shaped Asoke, moving between the district's industrial heritage, the glamour of nearby Sri Krung Sound Film Studio — one of Thailand's early sound-film studios — and the contrasts between old and new that continue to define Bangkok.

These references are first encountered through a bronze façade inspired by the mechanical detailing of vintage film cameras. Beyond it, a central courtyard leads from Sukhumvit Soi 12 into the hotel's arrival and social spaces. The transition provides a degree of separation from the street without entirely disconnecting the property from the movement of the neighbourhood outside.

During the preview, members of the media were also introduced to the hotel's guest rooms, designed with a residential sense of ease. Their interiors look back to the warmth and familiarity of the Thai family homes once found along Sukhumvit Soi 12, reinterpreted through curved forms, softened edges and warm neutral materials.

Industrial-inspired finishes introduce a contrasting reference to nearby Klong Toey port and Asoke's changing urban landscape. The most recognisable local detail appears above the bed, where a blue Paa Khram fabric canopy pays tribute to one of Thailand's longstanding handwoven textile traditions while giving the Canopy brand's signature feature a distinctly Thai identity.

Canopy Bangkok Sukhumvit comprises 174 rooms across several categories, including King and Twin Canopy Rooms, Accessible Rooms, Urban View Rooms, Courtyard Rooms, Courtyard Deluxe Rooms and King Canopy Corner Rooms. The collection is completed by one King Suk Jai Suite and two King Asoke Suites.

The hotel has also incorporated flexible arrangements for families, friends and small groups. Nine pairs of interconnecting rooms can be combined through a shared entrance area to create a more private, suite-style configuration. A further seven pairs of connecting rooms offer direct internal access while maintaining two separate spaces.

Beyond the accommodation, the preview provided a look at the rooftop pool, where open views across Sukhumvit offer a quieter perspective on one of Bangkok's most energetic districts. The hotel also features a 24-hour fitness centre.

Food and drink are central to the property, with four concepts designed to take guests from morning coffee to dinner and late-night cocktails. The overall culinary approach centres on fire-led cooking, seasonal Thai ingredients and bold flavours, although each restaurant and bar has been developed with its own character.

Cante, the hotel's signature Spanish fire grill and taberna, serves wood-fired dishes and sharing plates inspired by Barcelona, Valencia and Andalusia. The space draws visual references from the layered cultural heritage of Southern Spain, reflecting the similarly varied influences that have shaped Asoke.

SoolHaus introduces a Korean-inspired cocktail bar to the hotel's evening offering. Created for Bangkok's diverse late-night drinking scene, the bar interprets Korean flavours and convivial drinking traditions within a contemporary Sukhumvit setting.

Luso operates as the hotel's all-day café, serving coffee roasted in Bangkok and premium Thai-grown teas sourced from independent artisan producers. On the rooftop, Glint brings together cabanas, craft cocktails and city views beside the swimming pool.

Together, the four venues establish a rhythm that shifts throughout the day. Luso provides a casual starting point for coffee and tea, Cante moves towards fire-led dining and shared plates, while SoolHaus and Glint offer two contrasting settings for the evening.

The press preview also introduced the hotel's collaboration with Bangkok-based lifestyle brand LalaLove. Known for bringing a contemporary perspective to Thai craftsmanship, the brand has created exclusive opening merchandise and a dedicated retail showcase within the hotel. The partnership is intended to be the first in an evolving programme involving independent Bangkok makers and artisans. Their presence gives the property an ongoing connection to the city's creative community, extending the local narrative beyond architectural references and interior decoration.

Held on 24 July 2026, the press preview presented Canopy Bangkok Sukhumvit not simply as another new arrival in Sukhumvit, but as a hotel that interprets its immediate surroundings through specific details. Paa Khram canopies, references to early Thai cinema, locally roasted coffee and collaborations with Bangkok creatives allow the identity of Asoke to appear in different forms across the property.

For the media invited to see it first, the occasion was an introduction to the Canopy brand's first chapter in Southeast Asia and an early glimpse of how the property intends to find its place within Bangkok: through design, food, local collaboration and a neighbourhood whose character has never depended on a single story.
