Barbù Pattaya

Perched atop the Siam@Siam Pattaya Hotel, just a stone's throw from the golden sands of North Pattaya Beach, Barbù is a rooftop restaurant and lounge that blends relaxed indulgence with bold, well-crafted flavours. While the sweeping views and tropical setting draw guests in, it is the food—layered, expressive and thoughtfully executed—that leaves a lasting impression.

The venue balances indoor comfort with open-air charm, offering a cosy interior dining space alongside two outdoor terraces. One overlooks the lively city skyline, while the other opens out towards the sea. Surrounded by lush greenery, gazebos and playful tropical patterns, the ambience feels vibrant yet soothing. Against this laid-back backdrop, the dishes arrive with understated presentation, allowing flavour and texture to take centre stage.

The menu begins with Barbù Bites, a collection of small plates designed to awaken the palate. These starters are light yet full of character, ideal for sharing while easing into the dining experience.

The Barbù Greek Salad is a refined take on a familiar favourite. Crisp bell peppers add a refreshing crunch that contrasts with the creamy saltiness of feta cheese. Juicy tomatoes bring natural sweetness, while sharp onion and briny Kalamata olives deepen the savoury notes. Finished with fragrant oregano and a bright drizzle of lemon juice and olive oil, the salad tastes clean, zesty and invigorating, with each bite offering a satisfying balance of freshness and richness.

The Bikini Sandwich leans towards indulgence. Pressed until the bread turns golden and crisp, it reveals a molten centre of Serrano ham, earthy truffle, nutty Emmental and silky organic butter. The flavours meld into a deeply savoury, slightly salty bite, while the crunchy exterior provides a pleasing contrast to the creamy filling.

For seafood lovers, the Garlic Prawn is a standout. Inspired by Spanish gambas, the local prawns are plump and tender, bathed in warm olive oil infused with aromatic garlic and a gentle chilli warmth. The flavour is rich yet clean, and when paired with toasted sourdough, the bread eagerly absorbs the fragrant oil, making each mouthful deeply satisfying.

The Skewer section caters to a wide range of tastes, from meat lovers to vegetarians. The Japanese Scallops are particularly memorable. Lightly seared in à la plancha technique, the scallops are sweet and delicate, resting on a vivid pickled carrot purée that adds acidity and brightness. A subtle hint of vanilla brings warmth, while crispy chorizo adds a smoky crunch, creating a dish that feels elegant, balanced and surprisingly complex.

The Lamb Kebab delivers bolder flavours. Minced lamb is generously seasoned with herbs before being grilled until juicy and aromatic. The meat’s richness is offset by a dollop of muhammara, whose gentle sweetness and spice add depth, while crumbled feta contributes a salty, creamy finish. Together, the flavours are robust yet harmonious.

Barbù’s pizzas are another highlight, thanks to a live pizza station and traditional oven that ensure freshness and consistency. The Pepperoni Pizza offers classic comfort done well: a crisp base topped with tangy, herb-laced marinara, stretchy mozzarella and generous portions of spicy mini pepperoni. Fresh basil lifts the richness, while pecorino adds a sharp, savoury edge that lingers on the palate.

Equally compelling, the Prosciutto & Stracciatella Pizza layers flavours with finesse. Salty prosciutto and assertive anchovy cut through the sweetness of marinara, while creamy stracciatella melts luxuriously across the surface. Each bite is rich and savoury, softened by the freshness of basil and the lightness of the crust.

Among the Barbù Specials, the Mediterranean Style dish showcases simplicity executed with care. The catch of the day is delicately cooked, its flaky texture complemented by an assortment of seasonal vegetables including potatoes, bell peppers, onions, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower. Lightly infused with rosemary and thyme, the dish tastes aromatic without being overpowering, while a squeeze of lemon sharpens the flavours and keeps everything feeling fresh.

Desserts at Barbù lean unapologetically towards comfort and indulgence. The Barbùmisu offers a playful reinterpretation of tiramisu, served in a charming mocha coffee pot. Creamy and lightly infused with coffee, it strikes a pleasing balance between sweetness and bitterness, feeling rich without becoming heavy.

For those with a serious sweet tooth, the Big Chocolate Cookie delivers a dramatic finale. Served warm, it is crisp around the edges and gooey at the centre, packed with molten chocolate. Paired with house-made Nutella ice cream, fresh strawberries, toasted marshmallows and crunchy nuts, it is indulgent, nostalgic and deeply satisfying.

The beverage menu rounds out the experience with a thoughtful mix of alcoholic and sober-curious options. The Garden Sour from the Zero Proof section tastes light and floral, blending zero-proof gin with elderflower syrup and elderflower and cucumber tonic for a refreshing finish. Seasonal Fruit Coco leans into fruity comfort, combining coconut water, seasonal fruits and palm sugar for a gently sweet, cooling drink that complements the bold flavours on the menu.

In all, Barbù delivers more than just a scenic rooftop setting. Its food focuses on clarity of flavour, thoughtful contrasts and satisfying textures, making it a destination where taste truly matches the view.
